Beijing nightlife enhanced with government measures

Beijing authorities rolled out 13 measures to develop the nighttime economy and facilitate consumption growth in the city on Friday, Beijing News reported.

In the next three years, a list of landmarks, business areas and lifestyle circles will be formed to welcome a more wonderful nightlife in Beijing, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce announced with 14 other departments.

The announcement added these landmarks or areas should be showcases to the world with unique characteristics, reasonable layouts, diverse functions and good management.

Landmarks, business areas and living circles on list

Landmarks on the list include Qianmen Street and the Dashilar area, Sanlitun, Guomao and Wukesong, while listed business areas include Solana, The Place and Guijie street.

Among those landmarks, Qianmen Street and Dashilar area are expected to further consolidate Beijing's charms as an ancient capital. Sanlitun, a popular destination for fashionable trends and recreation, will showcase itself with more vitality.

Theme activities like gourmet festivals, light festivals, "Show Beijing" performances will be organized in those landmarks and business areas.

Living circles will also be cultivated for the convenience of residents' nightlife. These living circles mainly include Shangdi, Wudaokou, Changying and Fangzhuang. Basic infrastructure and ancillary facilities will be upgraded for the convenience of night consumption.
