13 dead, 20 injured in India as container trailer collides with bus

MUMBAI - Thirteen people died and 20 others were injured when a container trailer collided with a state transport bus at Nimgul in India's western state of Maharashtra, 391 km from Mumbai on 10:30 pm local time Sunday night, police official said.

The injured have been admitted to the hospital, with 11 of them in critical condition.

The drivers of both vehicles died in the accident as the collision was head-on, said the local police official.

The bus, with 45 passengers on board was going to Aurangabad city from Shahada town in the state of Maharashtra.

The police were registering a case of accidental deaths and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
