An art exhibition is underway at Harbin Gallery in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, showcasing a total of 200 Russian oil paintings to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia.

The oil paintings feature a humanistic spirit with a deep and dignified simplicity, and enjoy a formidable reputation across the world.

All the oil paintings are created by renowned Russian artists, and have already attracted a large number of visitors since opening.

"I feel quite excited to be able to appreciate so many Russian oil paintings here," Wang Chuanglin, a tourist from Jiangsu province, told China News. "The realist paintings that show the daily life of peasants in Russia's Far East make me feel the exotic style that is quite different from South China."
