Gansu's foreign trade hits 27.71 billion yuan in first three quarters

In the first three quarters of this year, the total value of imports and exports in Gansu's foreign trade was 27.71 billion yuan, of which the total value of exports was 9.6 billion and the total value of imports was 18.11 billion.
In September, the total value of imports and exports was 3.08 billion yuan, an increase of 17.1 percent from the previous month. Among these, the total value of exports was 910 million yuan and the total value of imports was 2.17 billion yuan, up 9.6 and 21.2 percent from the previous month respectively.
In the first three quarters, Gansu's import and export of foreign trade presented five characteristics:
In the first three quarters, ASEAN became the second-largest trading partner of Gansu province for the first time. Total trade volume between Gansu province and ASEAN was 2.93 billion yuan, an increase of 37.8 percent accounting for 10.6 percent of the province's total value of foreign trade.
Kazakhstan and Mongolia are the first- and third-largest trading partners of the province. The total value of imports and exports between Gansu and Kazakhstan was 4.13 billion yuan, accounting for 13.8 percent of total import and export value of the province; total value with Mongolia was 2.9 billion yuan, an increase of 18.9 percent, accounting for 10.5 percent of Gansu's total foreign trade value.
In the same period, the total value of imports and exports in Gansu's foreign trade along Belt and Road Initiative countries was 15.08 billion yuan, up 0.4 percent and accounting for 54.4 percent of the total foreign trade value of Gansu province, and the proportion increased by 4.2 percentage points.
The leading role of private enterprises is more obvious. In the first three quarters, the total foreign trade value of Gansu province was 11.87 billion yuan, an increase of 6 percent accounting for 42.8 percent of total import and export value for Gansu — an increase of 5.4 percentage points over the same period last year.
Among these figures, exports were 8.33 billion yuan, representing a decrease of 2.4 percent and accounting for 86.8 percent of total export value; imports were 3.54 billion yuan representing an increase of 32.8 percent and accounting for 19.5 percent of total value of imports. In the same period, the import and export of foreign-invested enterprises was 290 million yuan, an increase of 66.1 percent, accounting for 1 percent of Gansu's total foreign trade value.
