HOUSTON - An annual ice sculpture exhibition by Chinese artists kicked off over the weekend in Galveston, an island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas.
This year the exhibition features the theme of "Christmas Around the World." Visitors may discover the Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and other world-known attractions in forms of ice sculptures.
The ice sculptures were crafted by a team of 30 skilled ice carvers from China's Harbin, with 6,000 pieces of ice weighing 2 million pounds (about 907,000 kilograms).
The exhibition will run until Jan 12, 2020, covering Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. It is expected to attract visitors from across the country.
