In his remarks, Wang Xiaoguang, the head of the Chinese Exhibition Delegation, noted the important role that trade relations between Kenya and China have played in creating employment.

"China's imports of non-resource products from Africa have increased significantly. More African products have entered China's market through the China International Import Expo and other platforms. The growth of bilateral trade between China and Africa has brought more employment opportunities and leapfrogged technological progress to Africa," Wang said.

A report by McKinsey on China-Africa said that there are more than 10,000 Chinese enterprises operating in Africa, creating millions of job opportunities and spending more than $75 million in building community roads, water infrastructure, supporting education and improving living conditions of local residents.
