WASHINGTON -- A US man was indicted for attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in the Middle East, said the US Department of Justice on Thursday.

Romeo Langhorne, 30, was arrested on Nov. 15 in Virginia state. Langhorne has been an IS follower since 2014 and has recently publicly reaffirmed his support for the group, the department said in a statement.

Langhorne solicited help from an undercover Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent posing as an IS affiliate to make a video showing how to make an explosive, and expressed the intention to teach others how to make the explosive and carry out attacks in support of the IS group.

Upon receiving the video, which showed an incorrect method of bomb-making, Langhorne uploaded the video to Internet.

Langhorne faces up to 20 years in federal prison, according to the statement.

Recently among similar cases, US law enforcement charged two other US men with attempting to support IS in November.
