Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, a brand owned by the United States-based Marriott International Inc focusing on connecting and creating communities, announced its continued expansion in China's capital with the opening of the Sheraton Beijing Lize Hotel in Fengtai district.

Located in Fengtai's new Lize Financial Business District, an office and retail hub that will host over 500 companies from banking and financial sectors, the group said that one of the main functions of the new hotel is to facilitate the development of Beijing Daxing International Airport and the city's booming tourism sector.

The Lize area will include a soon-to-be-built city terminal with direct rail access to the new Beijing Daxing International Airport, giving greater connectivity to guests traveling to the city for business and leisure.

Khan Sung, general manager of the Sheraton Beijing Lize Hotel, said boosted by major events such as the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing and Zhangjiakou, and influential international conferences and exhibitions, the Chinese capital has made great efforts to expand its tourism market and cooperate with overseas travel agencies to develop more cultural tourism routes for overseas visitors.

Sung added the hotel aims to attract both domestic and foreign business travelers and tourists, as well as airline crews to build a better presence in Beijing and continue to introduce more digital-related tools in hotel room booking and guest service over the next three years.

The 325 guestrooms and suites incorporate contemporary design with modern grays and warm beige tones as well as highlighted accents of modern art influenced by Northwest China's Qinghai province.
