A large-scale exhibition of the iconic American artist Andy Warhol's works kicked off at Beijing's Bird's Nest, the main stadium of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, on Saturday.

The exhibition presents the artist's paintings, sculptures, pictures and films across almost 40 years to showcase his pioneering achievement in pop art.

It is the largest display of Andy Warhol's work in China commissioned by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, said the organizer.

Warhol is best known for his striking image of actress Marilyn Monroe and his iconic one-liner "everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes."

The exhibition will run at the Bird's Nest culture center until Jan 5, 2020.
