Xinhua | Updated: 2020-01-09 14:43

"Fox Hunting," an original domestic film with a counterterrorism theme, is scheduled to hit mainland screens on Jan 10.

Based on an award-winning novel of the same name, the movie depicts the story of Xiao Jian, a veteran who works as the head of the security team of a Chinese company involved in the construction of the China-Thailand Railway. Xiao rescues the kidnapped daughter of the company chairman with the help of Thai police, thus preventing an international dispute.

The movie has pocketed over 210,000 yuan (about $30,237) in presales, according to the major Chinese film database Maoyan.
