The Spring Festival can bring lots of joy and fun to children and adults alike. Everything from stories of an itinerant village monster frightened off by fireworks, to gestures of respect being paid to elders, to the making of jiaozi and yuanxiao, along with gifts of mooncakes given to mark the Mid-Autumn festival. It's all wholesome and enriching activity for everyone. And added to all that are the variations of such lunar calendar holidays that can be found in neighboring countries.
