Over the past two weeks, Shen Mingwei has finished reading five books and watching 10 films at his home in Changchun, capital city of Jilin province.

After returning from Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, Shen began the two-week isolation observation at home during the epidemic.

"I also keep running on the treadmill every day, which has helped me lose 1 kilogram of weight," he said. "Observation at home doesn't mean wasting time, but means living more meaningfully."

Despite the Chinese New Year Holiday is drawing to an end and people are preparing to return to work, there are still some people like Shen under observation at home for various reasons.

Without wasting precious time, some of them tried every possible way to acquire different skills.

Changchun resident Su Hang made a two-week fitness plan after returning from Beijing.

"I seldom did exercise before, but after 10 days of exercise at home, I have greatly improved in strength and skill," he said. "I could only finish at most five push-ups before, but now I can finish more than 10 easily."

Furthermore, people also focus on cooking, calligraphy, painting and short videos to spend more time at home.
