All schools across the United Kingdom will be shut by the end of March 20 in a bid to control the spread of the novel coronavirus, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday.

Belgium's government has announced a lockdown, similar to measures imposed in France, from Wednesday onwards, with exceptions to allow people to go out for physical activities. Serbia is introducing a strict curfew for all people, with those over 65 years old having to stay at home at all times. The French Open tennis tournament has been postponed to September.
