BEIJING -- About 80 percent to 90 percent of foot traffic has recovered for automobile dealers across China in April as demand warms up, industrial data showed.

All over the country many auto dealers have resumed business operations in April, according to the China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA).

The country's auto market is undoubtedly recovering, despite the absence of a sharp rebound in consumption, said Xiao Zhengsan, secretary-general of the CADA.

Data from the association also showed that recovery of foot traffic is slower in Central China's Hubei province, once hit hard by the COVID-19 epidemic, compared to regions in northern and eastern China.
