China's new yuan loans rise in April

BEIJING - China's new yuan-denominated loans hit 1.7 trillion yuan (about $240 billion) in April, a year-on-year rise of 681.8 billion yuan, central bank data showed on Monday.

The M2, a broad measure of money supply that covers cash in circulation and all deposits, rose 11.1 percent year-on-year to 209.35 trillion yuan at the end of April.
