China urges Canada to release Meng Wanzhou

China on Friday urged Canada to release Huawei Technologies Chief Financial Officer Meng Wanzhou immediately and ensure her safe return to China, and not to go further down the wrong path.
The purpose of the US is to suppress Huawei and other Chinese high-tech companies, and Canada has been acting as an accomplice of the US, Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said.
