BEIJING -- Chinese universities and colleges have stepped up efforts to promote innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the education process, according to the 2018 national undergraduate education quality report issued by the Ministry of Education.

By the end of 2018, more than 300,000 students had been enrolled in innovation and entrepreneurship training programs, the report said.

Students in 452 higher education institutions could also earn credits by participating in academic competitions and entrepreneurship and innovation projects.

Among their efforts to advance the reform and innovation of personnel training, Chinese colleges and universities have introduced both practical and virtual classes into traditional classroom teaching, integrating theory with practice, the report noted.
