Shanghai has experienced another rainy week with precipitation reaching a peak of over 50 millimeters on Wednesday morning.

The Shanghai Meteorological Service published a rainstorm notice on early Wednesday to remind the public to avoid leaving home if possible and to make a detour where there is a waterlogged area.

The rainstorm also brought the temperatures down to 22 C on Wednesday, with cool temperatures of up to 24 C also expected for Thursday, the first day of sanfu, the hottest and dampest period of summer.

Shanghai will experience cloudy days again on Saturday with temperatures returning to 30 C, according to a weather forecast.

The National Meteorological Center said that heavy rainfall will continue through Thursday across the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, including north Hunan province, north Jiangxi province, south Anhui province, south Jiangsu province, Shanghai and north Zhejiang province.

There may also be torrential rains in some regions.
