The Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission recently approved a project to provide bus service around Universal Beijing Resort, which will bring convenience to both residents and tourists visiting the theme park and to Tongzhou district's cultural tourism zone.

According to the commission, the new Shiyuan Bus Terminal will sprawl across about 7,000 square meters and feature bus parking lots, business lots and other facilities.

It is scheduled for completion in July next year and will become a terminal for new energy buses, which will contribute to the sustainable development of public transport in the cultural tourism zone of Tongzhou district.

Another road between the Universal Resort and the city's East Sixth Ring Road is also under construction, and is expected to be finished by November. Together with other roads, there should be plenty of choices for public transport around the area.

Beijing's Universal Studios theme park, which will be the biggest in the world, is scheduled to open next year and host more than 10 million visitors annually.
