Another Foreign Ministry spokesman named

Former ambassador to Tunisia, Wang Wenbin, took up his new role as deputy director-general of the Information Department under the Foreign Ministry and the 32nd spokesperson for the ministry.
Wang, 49, has served diplomatic missions for 27 years in various areas, mainly engaged in policy planning for China's diplomacy and affairs of African countries. He is a fluent French speaker.
"I will sincerely communicate with reporters to introduce China's diplomatic policy and philosophy in a timely, accurate manner and enhance understanding and friendship between Chinese and foreigners," he said in a brief speech on Friday.
When introducing Wang, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said that Wang is "experienced in diplomatic work and good at communication", adding that he will begin to host daily news conferences from next week.
The veteran diplomat began his career in the Information Department of the Foreign Ministry in 1993, and then worked at the Chinese embassy in Senegal from 1994 to 1996, and the Chinese consulate in Douala, Cameroon from 1996 to 1997.
He worked in the Department of European Affairs in the Foreign Ministry for two years since 1997, and then moved to the Policy Planning Department in 1999.
Wang also worked in the General Office of the State Council from 2004 to 2006.
In 2006, he became political counselor at the Chinese embassy in Mauritius.
Before working as ambassador to Tunisia in 2017, he was deputy director-general of the Policy Planning Department of the Foreign Ministry.
