Skyworth Metz unveils $29,000 high-end TV

Chinese television maker Skyworth Group is banking on the high-end TV segment by launching the premium OLED TV products Metz sculpture 1 priced at 199,999 yuan ($28,920).

Wang Zhiguo, chairman and president of Shenzhen Skyworth-RGB Electronic and Metz Consumer Electronics, said with the consumption upgrade, Chinese consumers are pursuing extraordinary quality of life and emphasizing on unique style and enjoyment, while Metz, which focuses on craftsmanship and aesthetics, is a tribute to their unique taste.

In 2015, Skyworth picked up a 100 percent stake in the TV business of German high-end home appliance brand Metz, as part of its broader drive to accelerate overseas expansion.

Tang Xiaoliang, chief brand officer of Shenzhen Skyworth-RGB Electronic and Metz Consumer Electronics, noted that as the most high-end luxury brand Metz is targeting high-end consumer groups in the Chinese market, adding the brand provides luxury experience and high-quality lifestyle.

Metz has been developing and manufacturing products in Germany for over 80 years, making it one of the longest established consumer electronics companies in the country. The first-class TVs stand for technical perfection in terms of longevity, reliability, image and sound quality as well as ease of use.

The newly launched TV set is equipped with a 4K 120Hz organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel and artificial intelligence-powered TV chip, and also supports Dolby Vision technology.
