Chief justice stresses reforming law enforcement supervision

BEIJING - Zhou Qiang, president of China's Supreme People's Court, on Wednesday called for stepping up the reform on the law enforcement supervision system in the people's courts to improve judicial quality, efficiency, and credibility.

Demanding efforts to take advantage of litigation procedures to oversee law enforcement activities and proactively receive external supervision, Zhou required accelerating the establishment of a supervision system that matches the operation of judicial power.

He also called for modernizing the judicial system and capabilities to make the public confident of fairness and justice in each judicial case.
