Farmers showcased their agricultural produce at a harvest festival in northeastern Beijing's Miyun district on Tuesday.

The festival, jointly hosted by Miyun's publicity department and trade unions of Miyun and the capital's Chaoyang districts, will last until the end of the month.

Miyun has developed routes across three of its national rural tourism villages for tourists. Visitors can purchase and taste distinctive local specialties while looking around the rural setting, Li Guoliang from the Miyun trade union said.

The Chaoyang district trade union will arrange for about 150,000 employees from Chaoyang to visit Miyun to experience the positive changes in the rural area and help local farmers to increase income, the union's senior official Ji Wenge said.
