China Mobile unveiled a new plan to promote education in impoverished mountainous areas, as the State-owned company steps up its push to deliver on corporate social responsibility.

China Mobile said it has partnered with the Ministry of Education, the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, the top anti-poverty office, and China Education Development Foundation to launch the Gotone Blue Dream plan.

Under the initiative, China Mobile will continue deepening its "network plus education" project to use 5G and the most advanced information and communication technology. It will donate informatization education resources to more than 100 schools in 58 impoverished counties in 11 provinces across the country, to improve the quality of education in these areas.

At the same time, the company's Gotone brand will launch a social service project to encourage its 160 million users and partners to jointly donate their resources to schools in under-developed regions, and to create a good social atmosphere in which everyone participates in public welfare and love is continuously transmitted.

Jian Qin, deputy general manager of China Mobile, said helping schools in poor regions and promoting education equality has always been one of the priorities of China Mobile's poverty alleviation work.
