China's interbank money market turnover rises in September

BEIJING - China's interbank money market recorded 104.6 trillion yuan (about $15.68 trillion) worth of transactions in September, up 35.4 percent year-on-year, data from the People's Bank of China showed.

The pledged repo turnover rose 38.2 percent year-on-year to 90.9 trillion yuan, while the outright repo turnover was 600 billion yuan, down 12.2 percent from the same period last year, the central bank said in a report.

Last month, interbank lending transactions expanded 21.7 percent year-on-year to 13.1 trillion yuan.
