Digital China CEO: Digital economy growth gives more opportunities

The rapid growth of the digital economy in the post-pandemic era presents a marvelous opportunity for enterprises that provide information and digitalization services, said Guo Wei, chairman and president of Digital China Group Co Ltd, a leading provider for cloud services and digital transformation solutions in China.

The new infrastructure based on cloud, information technology and innovation will be the most prominent feature of China's economic development in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) or in the next 10 or 20 years, Guo noted.

Guo added more efforts are needed to leverage the popularization and development of cloud computing technology to better serve enterprises and society in the whole process of reconstructing IT infrastructure.

In addition, application scenarios should be combined with the latest digital technologies to create more commercial and innovative models, which also provide precious opportunities for the transformation and upgrading of enterprises.

The company also announced the establishment of a digital China service alliance in cooperation with 14 partners in the ecosystem to empower and help the digital transformation of enterprises.

Based on statistics from the market consultancy International Data Corporation, the market size of China's third-party cloud management service reached $560 million in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 82.6 percent.

According to IDC, this market will see a compound annual growth rate of 54.7 percent from 2019 to 2023 to reach a market size of $3.21 billion. Digital China was listed as the country's top managed service provider by the IDC annual report for the second consecutive year.
