On Dec 29, on the occasion of the 10th Joint Meeting of the China-Italy Joint Government Committee, the principal person in charge of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission (ICC-NDRC) and Eni Group's Chief Executive Officer, Claudio Descalzi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between ICC-NDRC and Eni Group of Italy through video link.

This cooperation is one of the important results of the 10th Joint Meeting of the China-Italy Joint Government Committee. Luca Ferrari, the Ambassador of Italy to the People's Republic of China, Cui Lin, deputy director-general of ICC-NDRC, Gianni Di Giovanni, chairman of Eni China and other representatives from both sides attended the signing ceremony.

Under the framework of the MoU, the two sides will jointly promote the establishment of close cooperative relations between Eni Group and relevant departments, key provinces and cities, enterprises and institutions in China, and are committed to promoting the common goals of clean and low-carbon energy transformation, focusing on low-carbon energy sources, advanced technologies, circular economy and other major fields, jointly exploring potential collaboration opportunities and carrying out key project construction.

At the same time, the two sides will actively expand third-party market cooperation projects, and jointly participate in the division and cooperation of international energy industry chain and value chain. Next, under the guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission, ICC-NDRC will coordinate and organize relevant parties to work closely with EniGroup to jointly promote the implementation of the MoU.

As an important window and platform for NDRC to carry out foreign exchanges and cooperation, ICC-NDRC plays a positive role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between government departments, cities, institutions and enterprises of China and Italy, focusing on building new platforms and new channels.

In recent years, ICC-NDRC has achieved good results in assisting Ningbo to establish a "One Belt One Road" China-Italy (Ningbo) Cooperation Park, and jointly expand the domestic market with Eni Group.

Eni Group is the second-largest state-controlled investment group company in Italy, the seventh-largest oil group company in the world and the top ranked multinational oil company with integrated upstream and downstream operations. It has branches in more than 40 countries in the world. Eni Group has been in the Chinese market since 1984, and has carried out close cooperation with Petro China, CNOOC, Sinopec and other enterprises, covering oil exploration and exploitation, refining and marketing of petroleum products, and production and marketing of chemical products.

Its main business is in Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Huizhou and other places. This year, Eni Group has set up a new representative office in Beijing to further expand its green and low-carbon energy cooperation domain.
