One killed in church shooting in US Texas

HOUSTON - One person was killed and another was wounded in a shooting at a church in US state of Texas on Sunday, local police said.
The shooting happened around 9:20 am Sunday at Starrville Methodist Church in Winona, about 360 kilometers north of Houston, Larry Christian of the Smith County Sheriff's office told the media.
Two people were found shot at the church, he said, adding that a suspect who fled the scene has been arrested.
He said there were no services going on in the church when the shooting happened and could not provide more details about the incident.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement about the shooting, saying that he was "grateful for the law enforcement officers who apprehended the suspect."
