4 die due to illegal dumping of toxic wastes in east China

JINAN -- Four people have died in the illegal dumping of toxic chemical wastes in East China's Shandong province on Sunday, local authorities said Monday.
The dumping took place in the city of Zhucheng. Investigators believed that the victims were killed by toxic gas produced by the chemical wastes.
An unverified number of people affected by the incident have received medical treatment and no one is reported to be in critical conditions.
Those responsible for the incident have been detained by police and further investigation is underway.
