Truck crash kills 15 in India's Maharashtra state

NEW DELHI - As many as 15 people, including seven men, six women and two children, died in India's southwestern state of Maharashtra on Sunday night after the truck they were travelling in overturned, confirmed a local cop over phone on Monday.

The mishap occurred in the state's Jalgaon district when the truck carrying a stock of papayas overturned near Yawal city.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over the accident.
