A public library has recently become a new tourist attraction with its display of more than 30,000 books forming a 16.2-meter-high wall in Nanhai district of Foshan, a prosperous Pearl River Delta city in Guangdong province.

Readers can select books as they walk along the staircases in front of the giant book wall.

The library, topped with a glass dome, is located in a busy mall in Nanhai district's prime shopping area. Foshan itself is about 20 kilometers from Guangzhou, the provincial capital.

The spectacular book wall, which extends from the second to the fourth floor, is attracting a large number of readers and other visitors. From below, it seems to be a steep, colorful cliff.

Many visitors are surprised to find such a beautiful scholarly venue in a busy shopping mall. They can borrow books from the self-service machines at the entrance.
