A second missing young leopard has been seized, local authorities in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, said late Saturday.
Fuyang district authorities in Hangzhou said at about 5 pm Saturday a leopard, one of three that escaped from Hangzhou Safari Park, was doped and captured in the mountainous forests near Fuyang's Yinhu community, where a leopard was first spotted. One leopard was captured earlier.
In another development, the safari park issued a public apology Saturday afternoon for failure to inform the public about the missing leopards earlier, saying they had previously feared that such an announcement might incite panic among the public.
Also, the missing young leopards were relatively weak in strength, the park added.
