The market for improving people's sleep is growing in the country as a good sleep is becoming ever more difficult in the daily bustle and busy life.

Members of Asian Society of Sleep Medicine gathered in Beijing on Friday to exchange the latest updates on sleep research and the industry.

Huang Zhili, chairman of Chinese Sleep Research Society, said a survey on insomnia in six major cities in China found 57 percent of Chinese adults have problems with their sleeps and 53 percent of the surveyed said they had been suffering from insomnia for more than a year.

A recent survey said the average sleep time of Chinese residents is 23:55 pm and as many as 80 percent have the habit of sleeping late.

A market with the value of more than 200 billion yuan has been cultivated domestically until now and the number is expected to reach as much as a 1 trillion yuan in 2030.

Unlike medical check-up and examination, a sleep assistance is more all-round in a person's health functional performance and more effective in health management.

DeRUCCI, a Chinese bedding brand and sleep health management solution provider, is introducing the big data and AI technology to develop smart mattress, which can detect various parameters of human bodies in sleep and self regulate its hardness for its user for a most comfortable sleep.

Yao Jiqing, president of DeRUCCI, is aiming to tap the area of sleep medicine with the global sleep industry and culture they have integrated and develop new products in sleep medicine.
