A man in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province, was sentenced eight months behind bars on Monday for insulting the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the country in February.
The man, Qiu Ziming, distorted the heroic acts of the heroes, belittled their heroic spirit and hurt their reputations by posting insulting information twice on his Weibo account, which had 2.5 million followers as of February, the court in Nanjing's Jianye district said.
It also ruled that Qiu should apologize publicly on national media and major domestic portals within 10 days from the time the judgment is posted."
