Chinese public security organs have made remarkable achievements in resolutely safeguarding Internet information security and handled more than 500,000 cybercrime cases since 2012, the Ministry of Public Security said on Friday.
Achievements have been made in multiple areas since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, including safeguarding internet information security, advancing reform to delegate power, streamline administration and optimize government services, said Li Bei, spokeswoman for the ministry.
Apart from making efforts in maintaining cybersecurity, public security authorities have also improved the integrated prevention and control system to ensure the security of key national information infrastructure, important networks and data, Li said.
Authorities have fully mobilized enterprises and related industrial associations and urged them to actively function in management to innovate the comprehensive governance models for the network, she said.
To stimulate the vitality of market entities and make life more convenient for the people, public security authorities have constantly deepened the reform to delegate power, streamline administration and optimize services.
The ministry has launched more than 260 new policies and measures for the convenience of the people and enterprises in areas such as immigration and exit-entry management, public security and household administration, and traffic management since 2012, allowing the public to have a more direct and tangible sense of gain, Li said.
According to the ministry, since its establishment in 2018, the National Immigration Administration has quickly released the benefits of reform and has approved 1.2 billion exit and entry documents.
Additionally, the average customs clearance time for Chinese citizens has been reduced to 45 seconds per person, and the time for the approval and issuance of exit and entry certificates for residents, who applied in their household-registered places, has been reduced to seven days, benefiting 1.36 billion people and saving about 43.6 billion yuan in the cost of handling certificates.
