Xinjiang reports new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases

Three new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were reported in Alashankou Port in Bortala Mongol autonomous prefecture, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The cases tested positive for the coronavirus on Sunday during regular nucleic acid testing and have been placed under quarantine and medical observation in a designated medical facility in Bortala Mongol autonomous prefecture.

The prefecture's COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters has immediately issued an emergency response. Currently, 74 close contacts of the carriers have been put under quarantine and medical observation. Epidemiological surveys have been launched.
