Remote expressway moves toward completion

The expressway that links the cities of Qingtongxia and Zhongwei in Ningxia is expected to become the most important fast transportation channel in the region's economic zone along the Yellow River.

"To effectively prevent sand erosion, we built a protective system along the expressway, including sand barriers, forest windbreaks, ecological landscapes, evergreen shrubs and gravel belts for firebreaks," said Ma Jun, director of a section of the project. "It will become a green, ecological and low-carbon corridor that provides beautiful natural landscapes year-round."
