Visa and Bank of China announced their collaboration to provide digital payment and financial services during the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
"Recognizing that consumers use many different payment methods in China today, we are working with Bank of China, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and local entities to enable easy and safe payment experiences in a variety of form factors for the Games," said Shirley Yu, group general manager for Visa Greater China, in Beijing on Friday.
Bank of China, the official banking partner of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, will support Visa card acceptance at terminals, including automated teller machines and point-of-sale terminals during the Games at all Olympic and Paralympic venues. Both parties also will promote the Games' themed card, which spectators can use and enjoy a variety of offerings at the Games.
"Bank of China and Visa will collaborate to support digital RMB products and services tailored for spectators onsite at the venues during the games, constructing the acceptance infrastructure for the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games," said Li Xin, chief business manager of the 321 project office at Bank of China.
