World Wine Conference opens in Ningxia

The World Wine Conference, as part of the First China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo, opened in Yinchuan city, Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Sunday.

Organized by the International Organization of Vine and Wine and the people's government of Ningxia Hui autonomous region, the conference aims to show Ningxia's promotion of wine industry through cultural tourism, progress in brand building and the influence of COVID-19 on the world wine industry.

"After the development of more than 30 years, the wine industry in Ningxia has formed a relatively comprehensive development system, including making a development plan and relative policies, establishing management agencies and cultivating talented people, gained advanced grape-planting and wine-making techniques, attracted domestic and overseas investment, and built a number of brands, explored a path for the development of wine industry with the characteristics of Ningxia, and received recognition from customers," said Chen Jian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor with Jiangnan University.
