US homebuilding tumbles in September

Due to labor shortages and strained supply chains, US housing starts fell 1.6 percent to 1.56 million units in September, the lowest level since April, and permits for future homebuilding declined 7.7 percent to 1.59 million units last month, the largest monthly decline since February, according to a report released by the Commerce Department on Tuesday.
