Top percussionist Wang Jianan shares his views on music

As the wind blows, drums roll. "Music is just a vocal tool, it's how you play it that makes a difference," said Wang Jianan, a percussionist with China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater. 

How do Chinese musicians play percussion instruments differently from their Western counterparts? In what special occasions were percussion instruments first used in China?
