Biden calls French, German leaders: White House

WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden on Monday called his counterparts in France and Germany following Russia's decision to recognize the independence of two areas in eastern Ukraine, the White House said.

The call with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz began at 3:17 pm (2017 GMT), a spokesman said.
