The United Arab Emirates celebrated its annual Innovation Month in February, hosting a variety of events showcasing the best examples of innovation from the country's public and private sectors, as well as by the general public.

During this year's events, the Future Application of Innovations Seminar and Date Palm Cultivation Seminar were organized by the UAE embassy in Beijing to more effectively promote innovation exchanges between the UAE and China.

The Future Application of Innovation Seminar was hosted by the embassy in collaboration with iFlytek, one of China's leading AI and technology companies. The seminar included examples of artificial intelligence technology applications and new products.

The event successfully promoted technological innovation, industrial breakthroughs, high-quality employment and urban integration, and contributed to accelerating progressive development in both the UAE and China.

The Date Palm Cultivation Seminar was hosted by the embassy in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences.

Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China, addressed the seminar, sharing his perspective on the importance of UAE-China relations.

Liu Guodao, vice president of CATAS, and representatives from the Abu-Dhabi-based Al Foah Company, the world's largest date palm processing company, attended the seminar.

The date palm plays a unique role in the diversified economic development of the United Arab Emirates.

In 2019, during his meeting with President Xi Jinping, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan donated 100,000 date palm seedlings to China.

Continuing in the spirit of that gift, the seminar aimed to advance cooperation on date palms and agricultural technology between the UAE and China.

The ambassador emphasized, during his address at the seminar, that through the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations, the UAE and China are pioneering extensive and in-depth cooperation in the areas of agricultural technology, preservation of biodiversity and food security.
