Capitol Records forays into China

Tom Tang, a veteran music industry insider, has been appointed as the general manager of the Beijing-based Capitol Records China, with Yvonne Yuen appointed as the marketing senior vice-president and international business' head at the Chinese subsidiary of Universal Music.

Tang said: "This is an exciting and dynamic time for music in China, with an explosion in possibilities across cultural creativity and digital innovation. Now more than ever, we have an opportunity to build global careers for our homegrown musicians."
