BRUSSELS - More than sixty Chinese and Belgian children took part in China-Belgium Children's Culture Day celebrations on Saturday hosted by the China Cultural Center in Brussels.
It was the first offline activity those children had been able to attend here since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Counselor Yang Qing, wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Belgium, said in her opening speech that fun activities like these can help promote better exchanges between China and Belgium.
After the opening ceremony, the children visited an exhibition of selected works centered on the theme of "The Twenty-Four Solar Terms in My Heart" and the United Nations COP15 on Biological Diversity.
Chinese and Belgian kids from local schools were exposed to a real Chinese cultural experience, where they learned to draw origami, write calligraphy, and play Chinese games consisting of beating drums and passing flowers.
The activity ended with the singing of "A Friendship Is Everlasting."
