Yen tumbles to 24-year low against dollar

The US dollar rose as high as 135.22 yen on Monday, the highest level since October 1998. The yen's continued weakness against the dollar is having an impact on Japan's domestic economy as yen-based import prices are soaring, putting a huge strain on Japanese household balance sheets.
