NSFocus steps up efforts in data security

Beijing-based web security provider NSFocus and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology have founded a data security joint laboratory in Beijing to strengthen cooperation in key technology research, solution formulation and product development for data security.

The joint lab was established during the technical forum TechWorld 2022.

Ye Xiaohu, chief technology officer of NSFocus, said: "The government's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) underscored the significance of digitization. In June, the State Council issued a guideline on accelerating the construction of digital governance. These have all demonstrated the importance of data. With the huge transformation of digitization in recent years, from the perspective of data security we should also make changes."

Li Xinyou, chief engineer at the State Information Center, said with the rapid development of emerging technologies, the quick expansion of application scenarios and the ever-changing security situation, data has become a key variable in social development, but also faces security challenges. Therefore, while promoting data openness and sharing, more attention should be paid to the protection of data.

According to a report from data consulting firm Digital World Consulting, in 2021 China's data security market reached 93 billion yuan ($13.6 billion), up 20 percent on a year-on-year basis.

In the future, NSFocus aims to promote industry-university-research collaboration and achievement innovation, cultivating talents that are needed for industry development, exploring and innovating and creating better services and more value for customers, the company said.
