China and Mongolia on Monday said they would make concerted efforts to build a community with a shared future for the two countries.

The pledge was made when State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg, who is accompanying Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh on his visit to China.

China-Mongolia relations have kept a positive growing momentum, which conforms to the common interests of the two countries and provides stability for a chaotic and turbulent world, said Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Wang said that President Khurelsukh's visit to China after the 20th National Congress of the CPC fully indicates the high-level mutual trust and high-level comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Mongolia.

China is ready to further strengthen the exchanges of experience in state governance between the two parties and two countries, as well as bolster solidarity and coordination with Mongolia on their path to development and rejuvenation, Wang said.

Noting that cooperation between China and Mongolia has enormous potential and vast space, Wang said China would step up cooperation with Mongolia in various fields including economy, trade and infrastructure.

Battsetseg, for her part, said cooperation between Mongolia and China is of great significance to Mongolia's socioeconomic development.

Mongolia hopes to work with China to jointly advance the construction of major projects and promote bilateral ties to scale to new heights, she said.

She added that Mongolia supports a series of China-proposed important initiatives such as the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, and is willing to enhance coordination and cooperation with China in the international arena.
