Egyptian children paint their passion for Chinese pandas

The paintings by Egyptian children feature Chinese pandas. 

To welcome the first China-Arab States Summit, the China Cultural Center in Cairo held an award ceremony of its brand activity "I LOVE PANDA" on Dec 7.

"I LOVE PANDA", a painting competition, has been held in the country for several years, attracting many local primary and junior school students. This year saw about 570 entries and 60 students' works were selected to be showcased at an exhibition.

The paintings by Egyptian children feature Chinese pandas.

Liao Liqiang, Chinese ambassador to Egypt; Yang Ronghao, the center director, and about 100 local officials, students and representatives attended the event.

Liao said pandas are China's national treasure and also a symbol of peace and friendship. He hoped Egyptian youngsters could promote cultural exchanges between the two nations when they grow up.

The exhibition will last two months.
