Three Parthenon marbles 'donated' to Greece

Pope Francis has decided to return to Greece three 2,500-year-old Parthenon marbles. The decision to "donate" the sculptures to the Greek Orthodox Church is being widely seen as a way for the institution to avoid creating a precedent that might lead to it having to return other treasures.

Greece's Ministry of Culture and Sports welcomed the "generous" decision and said it hopes the move will put pressure on the British Museum, which also has Greek marbles.
